One arrested on RRC felony warrant
At 1pm on Friday, Parisian patrols pulled up a red Mustang at block 3800 rue Lamar for a seatbelt violation.
Passenger Tiffany Louise Cox, 29, a Blossom resident, was arrested after being confirmed by the Red River County Sheriff’s Office on an online impersonation/name felony warrant and then transferred to the Lamar County Jail.
Blossom man arrested for drug possession
Police in Paris were called to Block 2200 Bella Vista Drive after a man passed out in the driver’s seat of a parked Chevrolet truck and the engine ran for several hours at 4 p.m. Saturday.
A burnt glass pipe with white residue was clearly visible.
Blossom resident Brandon Lee Smith, 45, awoke to find himself arrested for possession of the controlled substance methamphetamine and imprisoned in a Paris prison.
Police respond to call when car crashes into building
At 5 p.m. Saturday, the Paris detachment received a call that a vehicle had crashed into an apartment complex in the George Wright Homes complex at 600 blocks on Southwest 7th Avenue.
Arriving police observed the Ford expedition crash in front of the apartment building. The driver collapsed inside the car. Although he was unconscious, he was breathing and had no visible injuries. Subject appeared to be suffering from an overdose or medical episode. A prescription container was found containing a usable amount of green leafy material identified as synthetic marijuana (K-2).
Paris EMS transferred the subject to the Paris Regional Health Office for treatment. A warrant will be requested for two or more state prison felony DUI/convictions.
Paris man arrested on multiple charges
At 1:42 a.m. on Sunday, police officers in Paris responded to a call of gunfire in the 1600 block of Ballard Street.
A Parisian police officer approached a parked vehicle with the lights on and observed the male subject asleep in the driver’s seat. A pistol was seen resting on the subject’s leg in the driver’s seat.
Deshawn Antalus-Alexander, 28, from Paris, then woke up. His firearm was secured and Mr. Alexander was asked to exit his vehicle. Alexander got out of the car and started running away on foot.
A Taser was deployed, Alexander was arrested, rushed to the hospital, and imprisoned in Paris Prison for evading arrest and detention with a criminal record and illegal possession of a firearm by a felon.
Stolen bike investigation continues
At 5:47 p.m. Sunday, officers filed a robbery report at Block 700 on Graham Street, with the victim stating that his bicycle was stolen at gunpoint.
This incident is under investigation.
The truck was reported stolen and recovered the same day
At 6:45 p.m. Monday, the victim told police in Paris that “the victim called the police” while working in a field at block 1200 of New Jefferson Road. He left his keys in his green 2000 Ford F150 truck (blocked by trees) and had it stolen.
The victim didn’t have any suspects in mind and wasn’t sure who would be looking into his truck and entering the scene.
At 9:02 p.m., police responded to DWI’s call and a truck matching the description of the stolen truck drove around the road.
A felony suspension was issued on the 1,000th block of Southwest Sixth Avenue, and Cadairon Armon Cooper, 17, a Mesquite resident, was identified as the driver and arrested on suspicion of motor vehicle misuse.
Investigation launched into reported assault
At 7:51 p.m. on Monday at Block 4000 on Brandin Place and earlier in the day at another location near Block 1300 on Clarksville Street, an assault/strangulation to impede breathing by a family member/household member occurred. A report was made.
The victim told police in Paris that her angry boyfriend had strangled her and made it difficult to breathe.
The incident will be investigated.
Calls to action: From Friday to Monday, the Paris police responded to 308 calls to action, arrested 11 adults and stopped traffic 27 times.
