French high-speed train shooter charged with murder
Prosecutors said on Saturday they had charged and detained a man who grabbed a police officer’s gun and opened fire on a high-speed train to Paris on charges of attempted murder.

The prosecutor’s office in the eastern town of Chalon-sur-Saône said the suspect “remained silent” after being brought before the prescribing judge, but did not name the suspect.
On Thursday, a man smashed a window of the TGV between Annecy and Paris with a sledgehammer, prompting train inspectors to call armed police on board for help.

During the fight, the man allegedly snatched a police officer’s military weapon and opened fire before being overpowered by the intervention of several passengers.
There were no reports of injuries.
