The Sumner man, who was arrested earlier this month and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, faces additional charges that carry a maximum sentence of life in prison.

The Sixth District Court imposed four additional counts against Jordan Lee Carroll, 22, of Sumner, who was arrested on June 17, alleging that the woman killed and assaulted the kitten for about four hours, according to court records.

According to prison records, additional charges included aggravated assault with serious injury, aggravated sexual assault, aggravated assault with respiratory distress, obstruction or retaliation, abuse of non-domestic animals, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual abuse.

Carroll remained in the Lamar County Jail on Tuesday with bail totaling $450,000, according to prison records.

Court records show that Reno police were called out at 6:24 a.m. on June 17 and met with the woman who allegedly had been assaulted by Carol.

According to an affidavit, the woman told police she woke up at around 2:15 a.m. when her girlfriend, Carol, walked into her apartment and started arguing with her cell phone.

According to the affidavit, Carroll then punched the woman in the face multiple times, leaving her with a bleeding nose, a swollen left eye and a broken front tooth.

According to the affidavit, she also said that Carol had strangled her with his hand, causing her to vomit blood, causing nausea and disorientation, and bruising on the side of her neck consistent with the strangulation.

After Carroll took the dead kitten outside, the woman locked the door and jumped out of a second-floor window to escape, according to the affidavit.

He could face five to 99 years in prison or life in prison if convicted.

Paris man charged with child sexual assault

A Parisian man has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 13-year-old boy, according to court records. After the minor told his aunt of the sexual assault.

Christine Michael Hudiberg, 18, of Paris, was held Saturday at the Lamar County Jail on bail totaling $407,500 due to a bail warrant issued Nov. 7, 2022 on four counts of child sexual assault and terrorism threats causing immediate threat of serious injury, prison records showed.

According to the affidavit, on June 2, police officers in Paris called a woman in Dallas to report that her nephew had been sexually assaulted by Houdyburg.

According to the affidavit, in an interview at the Child Advocacy Center, the boy said the abuse began when Hoodiburg began living with him and worsened after he moved to Paris in March 2021, with Hoodiburg assaulting him two or three times a month.

An arrest warrant was issued for Mr. Houdyburg on June 20, and he was arrested by Lamar County lawmakers later that day.

If convicted, he could be sentenced to imprisonment from two to 20 years for each offense.
