The Pros of Technology in Daily Life

Technology has come so far in just the past 10 to 15 years and has now become ingrained into many daily aspects of our lives. Some see technology as just an easier way to get their sports news at the end of their fingertips whenever they want it, while others almost seem addicted to it at all minutes of the day like their life depended on it. But is having that amount of technology in our daily lives a good thing?

There are many ways that technology has helped improve our lives. It may have sped up our lives and now people cannot go anywhere without their devices, but is that necessarily a bad thing? It all depends on how you look at it. Let’s take a deeper look into how technology has helped our daily lives and will continue to do so in the future.

Productivity

Technology has allowed for an increase in productivity in many ways of our daily lives. The ability to run businesses and automate many different aspects of our lives has been made possible through advancements in technology. Manufacturing has also become streamlined and sped up due to technology as well.

Small business owners can now run their businesses from the convenience of their phones or from a small at-home office instead of needing a storefront that once was the face of the business. People can now run small businesses or even side gigs through their phones using apps and other technological advancements. High school kids are even known for creating small businesses through drop shipping, where they sell items without needing an inventory of goods.

Service industry companies are now mainstreaming their businesses, allowing for faster action and more business to happen quicker. Just think, even 10 years ago, Amazon was still just getting its feet underneath them. Nowadays, you can get almost anything delivered directly to your front door in the matter of two days! That would have been unthinkable before.

Better and Easier Communication

Yes, mobile devices and their ability to text and call have made instant communication worldwide possible, but now with the advent of FaceTime and Zoom, people can talk face to face from their devices all around the world.

But communication doesn’t just encompass the ability to talk person to person. It also includes the sharing of information. When was the last time that you read a newspaper or had magazines delivered to your house? Now information and productions like that can be found instantly and accessed within minutes thanks to most publication companies taking their product virtual.

Other platforms like YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook have allowed so much freedom in sharing information that technology is quickly changing the face of education and what people have access to in their lives. People and children alike can enhance and further their education by spending 30 minutes on Google or watching informational videos on YouTube about a single subject.

Mobility

Technology has allowed us to be more mobile than ever before. Not just through advances in things like automobiles and other modes of transportation, but also the freedom to move around in our daily lives. No longer are we tethered to the house with only a landline phone. You can take your life with you in your pocket to run errands without missing that important phone call you were waiting on.

Technology also allows people to work from home or be mobile with their work, giving people freedom to live anywhere they want and travel for their pleasure without missing work. It also allows freedom in people’s personal lives that allow them to be productive as a worker and also be available for family events or family needs.

Finance

Banking and taking your finances with you is now possible and is easier than ever. Banks have now made it possible to access your funds, deposit checks, and make payments all through apps on your mobile device. Taking trips to the bank are no longer necessary except for special instances.

Other apps like PayPal, Venmo, and CashApp can be linked to your account and purchases can be made through them. And splitting lunch with your best friend has never been easier. The use of these apps can make paying your friends and family much easier.
